The time you have to dedicate to your blog is individual, however, the more effort you put into organizing your blogging time and using it wisely, the more productive you’ll become and the more you can achieve!

Organizing your blogging time

Create a Routine

It might make blogging sound formal by saying you need a routine and it is, after all, if you want to make money from your blog, start treating it like a business and plan to run it like one too!

A great idea is to batch like items together, it means getting more done as you are not jumping from one task to another.

If you can pull your tasks together it will save you time.

Items to Group Together

If you are struggling with how this can work, here are some examples of what you can batch together:

  • Scheduling social media, don’t just do today’s try doing two days at a time or even 3. The more you do in one sitting the less time you will waste on social media looking for things to share.
  • Planning your editorial calendar, do months at a time, this way you can prepare for holidays in advance and to have a clearer picture of where you are heading with your blog.
  • If you take your own pictures, do these in batches too, it saves getting your camera equipment out and setting it up too often!
  • Plan your writing and write more than one article in a sitting, this way you are increasing the amount of content that you will have ready and you can get ahead!

How to Work a Routine

If you do items on certain days it becomes more of a routine and you will do these tasks automatically.

They become less of something to worry about as you plan and prepare for the different areas of your blog ahead of schedule.

Organizing your blogging timeBe consistent, try and carve time out in your day so you can spend quality time improving and growing your blog.

Cut Out Things You Don’t Need

It is hard trying to fit blogging into your day if you are restricted with the time that you can spend working on your blog consider cutting out areas you just don’t have time for!

If there is a social media channel that just isn’t converting! You might find that spending more time on a different channel brings people to your site is worth more than struggling with a platform that just isn’t working.

Consider hiring out tasks if you are struggling to find the time to do all the activities that you need to do. Find someone who can do it for you. This will free up your time to do other things which you are great at and a better use of your time.

Don’t Feel like You Are Just Keeping up

If you just don’t feel like you are getting on top of your blogging to-do list, don’t panic. The life of a blogger is never ending and there is always something else that you need to do.

However, organizing your blogging time ahead can give you your sanity back, you might still be really busy and would like more time. But you won’t be feeling like you are just chasing your tail and not getting anything done to move your blog and business forward!
